Brigitte Bardot - Forever a Style Icon

de la plage ensoleillée...

Since the young age of 14, I've loved the "Bardot" aesthetic. Those smokey heavy made up eyes, soft sun-kissed skin, beautiful blonde hair. What's not to love about the original French style icon of the 60's. Even though a majority of youth from today know nothing of her, she's still very much relevant in our current pop culture scene. With artists such as Faith Hill, Molly (The Saturdays), Kate Moss and even my favorite Kylie Minogue drawing inspiration from her look, Bardot will always live on. Even though she was known mainly as a model/actress/singer, it's the style icon title that brags my attention the most. Her effortless sexiness is just so alluring, no man could resist back in her day.
Something about her confidence, in her videos and photographs make her such an inspiration for so many even today. If I were to go back in time and be any female celebrity icon, it would be her. Leave it to me to want to be someone as controversial, as saucy and as borderline "culturist" (but not racist) as Brigitte.
